We offer a wide range of pogo pins. You can find several standard types in our overview. Available under the respective product types. Customer-specific developments are also possible.
In the connectors’ world, the Pogo-pin connector is a special type of contact technology. In the past few years, this reliable technology has been accepted by many world-class customers and applied for a hundred different kinds of electronic products, such as mobile phones, GPS devices, car stereos, notebooks, TV game peripherals, LED road lamps, hearing aids, mobile radios, etc.

- RoHs compliant and halogen-free
ConstructionThe pogo pin connector consists of 3 parts – Plunger, Spring and Barrel (based on cumstomer’s need, we can match with housing an cap)
Back Drill Design
The drilled tail makes extra space for spring and creates a shorter pogo pin. For smaller designs, the so-called Back Drill Design is used. In order to achieve the customer-specific desired spring force, the spring used in this design is longer than the hollow plunger.
- Pin Length: < 3.5 mm
- Current: 1 A
The bias tail of plunger creates lateral force and better contact. To ensure a 100% contact of the plunger with the barrel, the bias design is used. In this design, the plunger is bevelled at its end at an angle of up to 18 ° and inserted into the pen case. As a result, a 100% contact of the plunger with the barrel is ensured upon actuation of the spring contact pin. This significantly reduces the signal disturbance due to vibrations. The bias design is applied to almost all spring contact pins from a length of 3.5mm
- Pin Length: ≈ 3.5 mm
- Current: ~ 2A
With high current carrying capacity requirements (> 3A) and vibration resistance, the bias design is complemented by the 4P design. If the plunger and the barrel of a spring contact pin do not connect properly at high currents due to insufficient lateral forces, the spring could burn out. To avoid this, the previous three components of a spring contact pin (Plunger, Spring and Barrel) are complemented by a stainless steel ball as a fourth component in the 4P design. This ball is integrated between the plunger and the compression spring. The flow of current is conducted to the sleeve via the stainless steel ball and the signal disturbance as a result of vibrations is significantly reduced. As an alternative to the stainless steel ball, a cap can also be used in the 4P design
- Current: 3~5 A
Brass normally offers the lower cost, beryllium copper is a good choice for electrical performances, and nickel silver is sometimes chosen for very small or delicate barrels. Or, when the barrel is un-plated, phosphor bronze tends to have better characteristics when used in high frequency applications. Barrels generally cannot be heat-treated, as this would interfere with the crimping during the probe assembly process. Selective hardening is an option but can significantly alter the cost of finished probe.
The basic choices of plunger are the same as the barrel materials above, but only for the tool steel SK4 material which has an advantage of hardness over others. SK4 is hard to protect tip style, and it is always heat-treated, to lend structural strength and sharp edge integrity. All of materials are easy to tooling by CNC, or CAM lathe machines.
Spring is made by high carbon steel known as music wire. Music wire has a very high tensile strength, and can obtain a strong force with a long mechanical life. But the music wire is a high magnet and it is easy to stress-relax through overheating and be subject to corrosion so it t must be plated before using. Regarding the stainless steel material, it is less magnetic and offers a higher temperature rating for the common spring material. For the Beryllium copper material, it has an excellent fatigue-strength and lower resistance and lower tensile strength. Usually it is difficult to design the spring in a small diameter with a big force value.
Variant: Double Ended Pogo Pin
The barrel is a deep-draw tube and usually needs to be plated twice. First of all, it will be nickel-plated with a normal thickness of 1 to 2 microns. Secondly, the gold plating is the most common final layer with a thickness from 0.1 to 1 micron. A relatively long tube with a small diameter poses a challenge to the conventional barrel plating techniques. A deep hole must be created in each end of the barrel to allow the plating solution to flow inside the tube and deposit the gold and nickel ions appropriately. It must have an extremely limited scale length to diameter.
The plunger is usually plated by gold. Gold is the preferred plating because it provides excellent conductivity and a high resistance to corrosion. Besides, the thickness of gold would positively affect the life-cycle. We also offer a plating range from nickel alone, in cases where extreme economy is desired, to a heavy gold plating. Alternative plating includes rhodium, palladium and other noble metals. Basically, different plating is applied for different product applications.
Pogo Pins for automatic assemblyOn customer request, we can supply almost all spring contacts cost-effectively with fitting caps. And this for individual pins as well as for complete pogo pin connectors. The spring contacts are supplied on a roll and are easy to use in automated PCB assembly.
Pogo Pin Connectors
We also develope customized pogo pin connectors. Due tot he wide range of pogo pins, we can develope: especially small connectors, waterproof solutions (IPX6 / IPX7), magnetic connectors and special solutions for high current applications. We also offer the cost-effective production of complete assemblies with connectors and cable assemblies.
A magnetic connector for comfortable using experience. It provides excellent HF signal transmission, fast charging of power and high speed data transmission. in addition, magnetic connector not only has good looking for ID design, but also good solution for preventing your laptop or cellphone from dropping when power cord of these items are pulled or trigged by users.
We also offer customized magnetic connectors. The plug is made of spring contact probes and a magnetic connection system. By implementing the spring contact pins, the contact is not generated by inserting the pins into a socket but already during the probing of the contact pins with the contact points. The contact points are soldered in the device with the board. Advantage of this technique is the high reliability at a very high number of cycles of up to 10,000 re fortifications. The strong permanent magnet consists of a neodymium iron boron alloy (NdFeB) and ensures rapid shock and vibration resistant, and self-guiding connection or simple solution of plug and device... read more >>
Please notice, that we can not only supply single pogo pins, as well as customized connectors with the suitable cable assembly.
