The transparent standard material of silicone keymats is rather milky, which can lead to scattering losses of the light source with larger keymats. New materials enable crystal-clear, highly transparent keyboards. Specially designed for backlit keyboards, these keymats offer minimal light scatter compared to traditional clear keymats. As a result, the luminous flux is almost completely reflected on the surface, which makes it particularly interesting for bright working environments or use in daylight. Another advantage is that there is no need to integrate light channels, which results in a closed surface. This provides comprehensive protection for the underlying electronics from dust and moisture.
The switching mats can be easily illuminated using status LEDs, which means that fewer individual components are required. Our highly transparent silicone switch mats are particularly suitable for switch mats with key caps made of plastic or metal as well as lacquered finishes in night design.
