For a modern measuring system we have a two-part Plastic housing made of ABS, which impresses with its combination of stability, tightness and design freedom. The housing consists of a top and bottom, which have a matching Silicone seal (60A Shore) can be precisely connected to each other.

This solution not only provides reliable protection for sensitive electronics, but also simplifies assembly – a decisive advantage in series production.

Double function of the silicone seal

The specially developed seal fulfills three tasks in the plastic housing:

1. Seal: Reliably protects electronics from dust and environmental influences – ideal for use in demanding environments.
2. Vibration dampening and protection: Acts as an elastic damper against mechanical loads or shocks and reduces vibrations and noise.
3. Leadership and positioning: Provides precise guidance during assembly and ensures that both housing halves are joined together precisely.

This triple function reduces the assembly effort of the plastic housing, minimizes tolerances and increases process reliability in series production.

Efficient production and cost-effectiveness of the plastic housing

The entire housing is manufactured using two separate injection molds – one for the ABS plastic, one for the silicone seal.
The precise coordination of both components creates a technically sophisticated and economical solution that is particularly suitable for series production from medium quantities onwards.

The combination of sophisticated design, functional integration and optimized tooling technology enables cost-effective plastic enclosures without compromising on quality or protective function.
